Treatment with me typically consists of a series of 50-minute sessions, scheduled at least once a week. The length of treatment is based on a patient’s specific situation and goals. Some patients choose to focus on more immediate goals and others decide to engage in a more open-ended process.

 

Getting Started

Before starting treatment, I find it helpful to offer prospective patients a free, 15-minute phone consultation. During your consultation, we can talk about the issues for which you are seeking help, discuss my approach, and determine--together--whether we might work well together.

To schedule your initial phone consultation, please call my office at (718) 701-2019 and leave your name, phone number, and good times to reach you. If it’s more convenient, you may also email me.

Please suggest some times to call when you will have enough privacy to briefly discuss your interest in therapy. Expect a call back within 24 hours, unless you have specified another time.

 

The First Session

If our phone conversation indicates that I can be helpful to you, and you feel comfortable meeting with me, we will schedule a first session which will be in-person, at my office in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Over the course of 50 minutes, we’ll discuss your concerns and see if we’re a match for each other.

My goal is always to help you find the best therapeutic outcome possible. If, after this meeting, one of us feels that you are better served by another therapist’s personality or expertise, I will help you to connect with someone who can better address your needs.

I do not work directly with insurance companies, but if you have a PPO or other plan that allows you to select an out-of-network provider, you may be eligible for reimbursement. I’m happy to help you understand your options.
