Outside of my private practice, I serve as the Director of Mental Health at the NYU School of Medicine World Trade Center Health Program Clinical Center of Excellence, where I've been providing direct care and monitoring services to World Trade Center first responders since 2007. One of my greatest pleasures is participating in the training of student psychologists at pre- and post-doctoral levels in the NYU/Bellevue Clinical Psychology Internship Program and at NYU School of Medicine.

I am also actively involved in three research projects:

  • I am principal investigator of an NYU School of Medicine-based study that aims to increase our knowledge of factors in psychotherapy that lead to positive treatment outcomes for World Trade Center first responders with mental health conditions.

  • I am co-investigator of the NYU School of Medicine-based site of the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP). The WTCHP provides medical monitoring and treatment for responders at the WTC and related sites in New York city, Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. It also provides services for survivors who were in the New York City disaster area. The WTCHP is funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and administered by the National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health.

  • I am co-investigator of a multi-site study funded by the National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health which explores the relationship between asthma and PTSD in World Trade Center rescue and recovery workers.
